TRAIL MAINTENANCE STAFF

LTE, June – September 2025

Preference for 16+ years of age with reliable transportation

Wage based on experience  |  Up to 30 hours per week

ORA Trails is accepting applications for a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position for the Summer of 2025, June – September. The Trail Maintenance Staff position will earn an hourly wage based on experience and will be allowed up to 30 hours worked weekly. This position will be 100% field work. 

The Ideal Candidate:

• Has knowledge on current shared use trail building and maintenance trends
• Has knowledge on bike optimized trail features and trail shaping standards              
• Has knowledge on erosion tendencies and best practices to alleviate and prevent future damage
• Is able to work with handheld tools and power tools
• Is comfortable working outdoors every day on varying terrain, and carry up to 50 lbs without accommodation
• Is comfortable working on a team with others
• Is 16+ years or older and have reliable transportation to work

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the repair of trail damage on shared use trails and pump track, and provide support with new trail construction
• Understanding of La Crosse’s trail systems and trail layout
• Ability to travel to varying job sites within our trail systems on a daily basis
• Maintenance and inventory of tools and equipment, daily
• Agree to become first-aid/CPR certified upon hire
• Agree to complete trail master training if not already certified 
• Optional to become chainsaw certified
• Various maintenance tasks as needed
